About Us

At sober living homes, residents experience the transition from higher levels of care back into the community with a group of individuals in the same transition. Residents can work, attend treatment, or attend school during the day, while having the support and safety of the clean and sober environment to come home to. Serenity Homes of Oregon have trained professionals, who are experienced in the recovery process. Resources available to Residents include:

  • Referral to a vast network of community resources
  • Constructive social framework teaching life-building skills through fundraiser hosting, annual house projects, etc
  • Job seeker solution, Workforce Network, which will include job search guidance, job connections and skills advancement
  • Program Officers to mentor new residents into a positive lifestyle
  • Resources for drug and alcohol education and relapse prevention counseling
  • Health Club Membership
  • Monthly charity volunteering requirement
  • Residents give presentations at treatment facilities sharing their experience, strength and hope
  • Oregon prescription drug program discounts

Our Program Works

DePaul University studies indicate the success rate for substance abuse treatment is 20% at best. When treatment is followed up with traditional based clean and sober housing, success improves to of 70-75%. Alcohol and drug-free houses (also known as sober living) play an important role in supporting treatment and recovery services in our community.

Our Mission

Serenity Homes of Oregon is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a coalition of community based clean and sober homes.

Our Goal

The goal of SHO is to significantly increase the success rate of chemically dependant individuals by providing quality recovery support through a safe, healthy, well-managed home. It is our goal that an individual's long term success rate will increase to at least 85% for the member's graduation after a year from our program. Each house member involved in this program will be given the best chance at becoming an upstanding member of the community.

Within our community, William and Gregg are much more than program officers, they truly "have been there". They are active leaders striving to make a real difference in people's lives. It's more than just opening the doors to men's recovery homes and filling it with residents. It's being the supportive resource for all aspects of an addict's successful recovery, their lives, the lives of their families and the community as a whole. From finding ways to get those in need into treatment, and in some cases finding ways to cover the costs of treatment, to addressing the legal, financial and personal problems that all to often are pushed aside in the struggle to "get clean." It takes more than what is traditionally offered to achieve success in recovery and through the constant and tireless efforts of William and Gregg, Serenity Homes of Oregon is making success a reality in the lives of those most in need in recovery.
